Round Table Summary (2) - Light Races Empty Round Table Summary (2) - Light Races

Post by Darian Tue Mar 19, 2019 10:36 am

    Hello again!

Our second round table is finished and I'm ready to post our talking points and notes.  These took a little longer due to my health and a rewrite we had to do for one of the races.  Apologies for the delay, and let's get right into it!

    General Details

    • The light or dark races aren't necessarily always right or wrong.
    • All characters can be thought of as the protagonist of their own story.
    • Many quests will feature the influence of the gods on the world.
    • Staff NPCs will often be demigods or followers of the pantheon.
    • Staff will post expanded race pages and "day in the life" stories to go along with each race to give a feel for their concepts and how they act in game.

    Dwarves

    • Strongly compelled to bring order to chaos or fix broken things.
    • Integrate into different societies, no just cave dwellers.
    • Strong focus on familial bonds.
    • Very lawfully aligned, supportive of stronger government.
    • Can and do study magic, turning it into another tool to be used.
    • Nordic influence in their appearance and culture, including seafaring skills.

    Elves

    • Culturally programmed to believe all elves are equal, even their leaders.
    • Incredibly long lifespans, view accidental death as a tragedy for this reason.
    • Focused entirely on community and society above personal gain, want everyone to be as happy and well off as themselves.
    • Vengeful and punish selfish acts accordingly.
    • Closer to nature simply due to living so long and seeing the cycles shift.
    • Shun the concept of nobility from birth, instead focus on nobility of actions.
    • Morality takes a back seat when compared to the greater good of the community.

    Humans

    • Maintain their place as the everyman jack of all trades race.
    • Multiple cultures depending on what region they hail from.
    • Can (possibly) become Darklings in game.

    Treekin

    • Have undergone a major rewrite as their function was too close to the Darklings and an existing class in game.  A newer version of their lore will be posted soon to show their new direction.  Please stay tuned!

Thanks again to everyone who came out!  I apologize we had to move the time.  Hopefully you all can come to our next round table, details of which should be posted soon.  Thank you again for reading and we look forward to seeing you all soon!
